NOT SO many years ago, keeping up to date with railway developments either meant having good contacts in the industry or patiently awaiting the publication of a growing number of monthly titles containing news about Britain’s railways. Inevitably, the news contained in such publications was several weeks out of date by the time they appeared on the shelves.

As with printed magazines, the number of websites dealing with railway topics continues to increase but now, bang up to date information is available at the click of a mouse. And there is an increasing number of websites dealing with railway history.

This page contains contact details for many of the organisations involved in the UK’s railway system, together with a number of photographic and enthusiast sites.
